Help Desk Technician (Microsoft)

We are a growing IT consulting company and have been a trusted advisor to our clients since 1986. The Operations Center is the hub of our Managed Services and provides real-time statistics for contracted customer networks. We seek a Help Desk Technician to provide first line troubleshooting and network support to clients calling into the Operations Center for technical support. Escalation responsibilities are included in this position and there is opportunity for professional growth.
In this position you will
- Monitor and respond to alerts generated by monitoring software.
- Deliver high-quality remote troubleshooting and assistance to clients, including configuration of servers, workstations and internet related equipment.
- Diagnose client issues and research, analyze and resolve those issues or escalate them to Engineers in a timely manner.
- Thoroughly test work and involve the client in acceptance testing to ensure systems are fully functional and meet the client’s business needs.
- Effectively communicate with clients and staff to build positive working relationships and ensure a complete understanding of the client’s needs and objectives.
- Deliver technical excellence in order to maximize customer satisfaction and minimize non-billable time.
This position requires a demonstrated ability to work independently and within a team to troubleshoot problems with speed and efficiency as well as strong communication and interpersonal skills and an interest in on-going professional development.
You must have appropriate training and/or 1-2 years of experience with
- Microsoft operating systems and productivity applications.
- Microsoft Exchange and Microsoft Active Directory.
- Major manufacturer data backup systems and virus protection systems.
- Routing, switching technology.
- TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc…
- Firewall technologies.
- Availability to work extended hours including nights and weekends as needed.
- College degree preferred. MCSE, CCNA, and/or security certifications are a definite plus.
