Our client specializes in beverage and industrial waste recovery services, and is a leader in the transformation of food and beverage residuals into environmentally beneficial ethanol and other commodities. This exciting green business focuses on renewable resources and has excellent potential for growth and innovation. A challenging opportunity exists for an experienced “hunter” salesperson to open up the West Coast market. Based in LA, the successful candidate will be responsible for generating sales in CA, AZ and NV, with the possibility of expansion into other states.
Responsibilities include:
. Identifying prospective customers by using business directories, following leads from existing clients, participating in organizations and clubs and attending trade shows and conferences.
. Recommending products or services to customers, based on customers’ needs and interests.
. Preparing drawings, estimates and bids to meet specific customer needs.
. Addressing customers’ questions about products, prices, availability, product uses, and credit terms.
. Estimating or quoting prices, credit or contract terms, warranties, and delivery dates.
. Negotiating details of contracts and payments, preparing sales contracts and order forms, and obtaining credit information about prospective customers.
. Consulting with clients after sales or contract signings to resolve problems and to provide ongoing support.
. Monitoring market conditions, product innovations and competitors’ products, prices and sales.
. Administrative duties: preparing sales budgets and reports, keeping sales records, expense account records, etc.
Qualifications include:
. Bachelor’s Degree in business or related field.
. 3-7 years’ sales experience in a related industry, such as beverage and spirits, chemicals, pharmaceuticals. Knowledge of green initiatives/sustainable manufacturing a plus.
. Demonstrated success as a “hunter”; proven track record of increasing sales in new markets and exceeding sales goals.
. Strong entrepreneurial skills, high achiever, self-motivated.
. Excellent business acumen; goal-oriented, detail-oriented, customer-service oriented.
. Superb communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
. Strong familiarity with MS Office Suite and CRM software.
. 50% travel required in large West Coast territory. Excellent driving record.
